c.1930 Hubley, Cast Iron "Baby" Speedboat
Terrific example of Hubley's classic cast iron "Baby" Speedboat. Two piece riveted construction, painted green overall, depicts a small, fast moving, single passenger "wooden" boat. The driver arched forward to resist wind impact uses his left arm to control the rudder, while his right arm (presumably) steers the craft. "BABY" embossed and highlighted in gold appears on both sides of the bow. Single piece cast iron wheels and axle, plus center underside of the boat serve as three points for play movement. Right underside of the boat is embossed "HUBLEY". Size: 4".
